When I first saw this streetfighter when I nipped in to see Andy at Zorstec for a chat. He asked me if I had any ideas for a paint job for it so I took the panels away to see what I could do. Unfortunately Andy hated the bio-mechanical scheme that I first came up with (sigh...) Then we tried an idea based on rock and lava but that didn't do the trick either.
Finally we went for a rainbow flake effect with a chequered flag draped across in black and silver based on a Born to be Wild scheme on one of Andy's customer's bikes. That did the trick and the bike ended up being my first featured magazine project (100% Biker November 2006) where it also ended up on the front cover and the centrefold poster.
You can't really see the effect of the House of Kolor Rainbow Flake on these photos, just a hint here and there. Suffice to say, where it looks like granite, sunlight turns the petrol tank and other panels into glittering marvels.
Thanks for your patience Andy, we got there in the end.
