This Captain America design piece was painted onto a set of panels from a Harley Davidson Street Rod.

The panels were supplied to me loose and the first part of the job was to paint them all in House of Kolor Cobalt Blue candy over Lapis Blue metallic base for a nice deep blue colour. The flags were added, along with realistic flames licking underneath, which showed up nicely against the blue. Finally, the Captain America character was airbrushed and handpainted onto the airbox cover. I tried to maintain its comic book feel with subtle use of outlining

The panels were clearcoated, sanded and polished before owner Jason picked them up in time to rebuild the bike and take it down to the BMF.
