About the Business
I specialize in murals, graphics and illustration and have over 20 years experience of producing very high quality artwork onto a variety of different surfaces. In the main I work on motorcycle tanks, fairings and fenders, crash helmets and leather garments, but I've also painted designs onto 4 x 4 wheel covers, guitars, cars... pretty much anything that I could get into the workshop! I've included many examples of these in the Gallery section. Please note, if I have a lot on I may not take on smaller projects as they can get in the way of some of my larger jobs which need to take priority.
I currently work out of a unit in Driffield, East Yorkshire, which I share with KP Motorsports, but I will be moving into the premises at Flameworks at Bridlington in the new year which will give me the space and opportunity to really expand what I do.
Flameworks take care of my prepwork and clearcoating. Full responsibility for the job remains with myself though, so if any part of a job is unsatisfactory then I will make all arrangements to put it right.
When planning a job out I put together the design using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, or the old-fashioned pencil and paper to show the customer what the end product will look like. This helps to tweak the design and get it absolutely right before any actual paintwork takes place.
I use good quality polyester basecoats for the bulk of my work on bikes and helmets. For special effect paints including pearls and candies I use House of Kolor. For leather I use Liquitex acrylics and Createx leather clearcoat. My current airbrushes of choice are the Iwata HP-B and HP-C.
I am often asked if I give airbrushing classes. Unfortunately I'm not currently in a position to offer this sort of service. If this alters I'll post any details up onto this website.
